CRO Testing Roadmap
September 2026
Paid traffic reaches product pages with slow mobile rendering, mismatched promises, and defaults that need clearer disclosure. This roadmap first repairs page health and message continuity, then tests trust and transparency at the moments closest to purchase.
Testing Roadmap
What we test next
Eight focused changes across product pages, paid-traffic continuity, the homepage, and the cart drawer.
PDP Mobile Load Time
Page: Organic Jojoba Oil PDP
The audit-sourced PageSpeed capture records a 33.9-second Largest Contentful Paint and 60.1-second Time to Interactive on the Organic Jojoba Oil mobile PDP; these figures were not re-run in the latest live check. That page is a primary paid-traffic destination, so every other improvement depends on it loading first. The proposed experience keeps the same PDP visible while the main product content and controls arrive promptly.
The same product page becomes usable before the shopper loses the thread. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Review-Count Continuity
Page: Organic Jojoba Oil PDP
Paid search can cite Amazon review totals from 9,000+ to 42,000+, while the live PDP and homepage cards show a 4.8 rating from 307 site reviews. The unexplained difference creates a sharp trust gap at landing. The variation keeps the current site rating and clearly separates the site and Amazon review pools, using a verified Amazon aggregate before launch.
The variation explains the two review pools instead of leaving the shopper to reconcile them. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Rosemary Claim-Set Alignment
Page: Rosemary Repair Scalp & Strand Oil PDP
The live Rosemary PDP already includes both verified trial pools: 95% reported shinier-looking hair and smoother ends after 14 days, and 93% visibly stronger plus 91% visibly fuller hair after 28 days. The opportunity is not to repair a missing claim, but to choose the strongest lead claim for paid traffic and carry that same lead into the PDP while retaining both result sets.
The test aligns the paid lead claim with the PDP while preserving both verified result sets already live. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Jojoba Default-Offer Match
Page: Organic Jojoba Oil PDP
The live PDP now defaults to 4 oz, with a $12.99 list price and $9.87 Subscribe & Save price; 16 oz is $33.99 and is not marked Most Popular. The $12.99 traffic promise therefore matches today's default product state. Keep the destination on 4 oz and make the pre-selected subscription price unmistakable.
The live 4 oz default preserves the $12.99 list-price promise and clearly distinguishes the $9.87 subscription price. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Package Protection Opt-In
Page: Cart Drawer
The cart adds SavedBy Package Protection at $2.47 into the checkout total by default, while removal sits in a small text link. This can make the total feel different from the basket the shopper built. The variation uses an unchecked, explicit opt-in and leaves the checkout total item-only until selected.
Protection becomes a clear choice, and the checkout total reflects that choice. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cart Guarantee
Page: Cart Drawer
The 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee appears below Add to Bag on the PDP, then disappears in the cart drawer. The final screen before checkout retains a large review claim but drops the clearest returns reassurance. The variation carries the guarantee into the cart beside the existing review proof.
The PDP guarantee stays visible through the final step before checkout. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Hero Product
Page: Homepage
The live first fold uses the “Make Every Day A Great Hair Day” campaign, a New Drop label, and a “Try It Now!” CTA. Rosemary Repair appears in Best Sellers below the hero rather than being named in the hero CTA. Organic Jojoba Oil also carries documented Best Seller positioning, so the variation tests whether leading with that product and a direct CTA improves product discovery.
The first homepage story shifts from the live hair-day campaign to the documented jojoba best seller. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Subscription Clarity
Page: Organic Jojoba Oil PDP
Subscribe & Save is pre-selected on both captured jojoba landing states without a strong visual callout that the default is recurring. Directional community research also flags unwanted recurring-charge complaints, although the first-party review set does not confirm them. The variation keeps the selected default but adds a clear Subscription tag and the full benefit stack: save 24%, free shipping, and more subscriber benefits.
The recurring default is unmistakable, with its full value explained in the selected state. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Data Insights
What the evidence says
The strongest patterns are repeated across measured performance, captured storefront states, paid-traffic promises, and customer feedback.
Biggest Killers of Conversion Rate
- The Organic Jojoba Oil PDP records an audit-sourced 33.9s mobile LCP and a 60.1s Time to Interactive, making page speed the clearest measured funnel blocker.
- Paid traffic can introduce different review pools without explaining the current 307-review site count, while Rosemary traffic may lead with only one of two trial-result sets already present on the PDP.
- Subscribe & Save is pre-selected on the PDP, while $2.47 Package Protection is included in the captured cart total by default. Both require clearer disclosure at high-intent moments.
Data sources used
Meta Ads and Landing Pages
- Rosemary Repair traffic can lead with the 14-day 95% shinier/smoother result; the live PDP already contains that pool and the 28-day 93% stronger/91% fuller pool.
- The live jojoba PDP defaults to 4 oz at $12.99 list or $9.87 Subscribe & Save; 16 oz is $33.99 and is not marked Most Popular.
- The captured jojoba landing states pre-select Subscribe & Save, with 24% off for 4 oz and 15% off for 16 oz.
Google Ads
- Paid search cites Amazon review counts from 9,000+ to 42,000+, while the live jojoba PDP and homepage cards show a 4.8 rating from 307 site reviews.
- A large share of the collected inventory routes to Amazon and uses Amazon-specific social proof, while site-directed messaging repeats free shipping and a 60-day refund policy.
Reviews and UGC
- Customers repeatedly praise jojoba oil for lightweight absorption, multi-use versatility, long-term repeat use, and value.
- Plastic rather than glass packaging is the most repeated complaint in the collected review set.
- Shipping damage, delivery delays, and batch-to-batch scent consistency appear as operational or product-quality concerns, not page-level test ideas.
PageSpeed Insights
- The mobile homepage records a 0.32 performance score, 7.2s LCP, 3.9s FCP, and 1,990ms Total Blocking Time.
- The Organic Jojoba Oil PDP records a 0.28 performance score, 33.9s LCP, 18.4s FCP, 1,650ms Total Blocking Time, and 60.1s Time to Interactive.
- CLS is 0 on both pages. The measured problem is load and render blocking, not layout shift.
Site Screenshots
- The live hero uses the hair-day campaign, New Drop label, and Try It Now CTA; Rosemary Repair appears in Best Sellers below rather than in the hero CTA.
- Organic Jojoba Oil retains Best Seller-style positioning with $9.87 sale pricing, a $12.99 comparison price, and stars on the homepage.
- The collection exposes 172 products with Filters (0); cards show stars, prices, and Add to Bag, but no visible review counts.
- The cart uses a three-tier free-shipping and gift progress bar, yet the 60-Day Money-Back Guarantee shown on PDPs is absent from the drawer.
Social and Community Research
- Third-party sources directionally surface recurring-charge and customer-service concerns, but the collected first-party reviews do not confirm explicit subscription-billing complaints.
- Third-party retailer reviews repeat the plastic-packaging complaint found independently in the first-party review set.
