CRO Testing Roadmap

April 2026

What We Found

CTD drives consistent paid traffic to high-value products, but the ad-to-checkout journey has three compounding trust breaks that most contractors will not push through. Promotional execution has drifted out of sync: offers referenced in ads have no visible resolution on landing pages, and cart copy directly contradicts value props established earlier in the funnel. The data needed to address this is already on hand -- specific, quantified proof from real buyers and a financing advantage that no identified competitor matches.

Slot 1 A/B Test

Buy Box: Financing Callout

MudMixer Ultimate Bundle PDP

CTD offers up to $100,000 in financing -- an advantage no identified competitor matches -- but the buy box leads with a $4,095 sticker price and places financing only as a secondary button below Add to Cart. No monthly payment figure appears anywhere on the page, so the price objection is never reframed before the buyer decides whether to proceed.

SALE PRICE $4,095.00 As low as $114/mo with financing --> PAY NO SALES TAX | Save up to $405 ADD TO CART Up to $100,000 Financing -- Apply Now Test focus * Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Slot 2 A/B Test

PDP Social Proof Block

MudMixer Ultimate Bundle PDP

Every CTD product page uses the same single testimonial, focused on delivery experience rather than machine output. The MudMixer review archive contains dozens of specific, quantified results -- solo pours, time savings, job-site applications -- none of which appear anywhere on the product page where a contractor is making a $4,000+ purchase decision.

What contractors are actually doing with it "6 yards. One guy. 2 days..." ***** Verified Buyer Jul 9, 2024 "77 bags. 2 hours 10 mins. Solo." ***** Verified Buyer Jul 18, 2025 "25 fence posts. Under 4 hours." ***** Verified Buyer Jul 12, 2024 * Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Slot 3 A/B Test

Cart Summary Copy

Cart Page

The cart shows a "NO TAXES" badge on the product line item, then reads "Taxes, discounts and shipping calculated at checkout" directly below the estimated total. This contradiction appears at the highest-intent moment in the funnel, on purchases averaging over $3,000, with no confirmation that the free shipping or tax savings promised in ads have actually been applied.

IMER CONCRETE MIXER QUICK SHIP NO TAXES $3,199 Estimated Total $3,199.00 checkmark No sales tax applied (TX residents excluded) checkmark Free shipping included Need financing? Get up to $100,000. Data Sources Collected
Meta Ads Google Ads Transparency Reviews & UGC Page Speed / Core Web Vitals Competitor Research Site Screenshots

Meta Ads

  • Ad 3 promotes "$300 OFF with code CTD300" but the landing page has no coupon redemption field and no instructions for how to apply the code.
  • Ad 2 sends traffic to a collection page where prices are not visible above the fold and an additional click is required before a buyer can purchase.
  • The "1,200 lbs of FREE Quikrete" offer is delivered as a $90 Home Depot digital gift card. The buyer must go to Home Depot to purchase and transport the Quikrete themselves.
  • All three ads land on pages with an expired "Pre-Spring Sale Ends March 31" announcement bar, still live as of April 1.

Google Ads Transparency

  • Google search ad copy uses generic messaging ("ready to ship") with no mention of tax savings, financing, or price advantage.
  • Meta and Google ads use different value propositions. Contractors who encounter both receive inconsistent messaging about what CTD offers.
  • No promotional offers (free Quikrete, $300 off) appear in Google ads, while Meta actively promotes both.

Reviews & UGC (MudMixer, Jun 2023 to Aug 2025)

  • The review archive contains specific, quantified solo-use results: 77 bags poured and cleaned in 2 hours 10 minutes; 6 yards over 2 days by one person; 25 fence posts with 1-foot diameter footings in under 4 hours. None of these appear on the PDP.
  • The top product complaints by frequency are water control inconsistency (concrete goes from too wet to too dry with minimal dial adjustment) and auger jamming with large aggregate or damp bags.
  • Multiple reviewers report contacting customer service without resolution: no callbacks after 3 weeks, issues dismissed as operator error.
  • One review directly identifies a checkout conversion barrier: "It doesn't show the free 2 attachments in the cart when I add it. How am I supposed to know I will be getting them if I purchase this model?" (Aug 25, 2024)

Page Speed / Core Web Vitals (Mobile, Apr 1, 2026)

  • The MudMixer Ultimate Bundle PDP scores 27/100 on mobile with a Speed Index of 17 seconds. This is the primary landing page for both Meta and Google ad spend.
  • 1,768 KB of unused JavaScript is identified on the PDP, alongside 30+ long main-thread tasks and render-blocking requests.
  • The homepage scores 40/100 with a 6.2-second LCP and a total page weight of 17,518 KB.

Competitor Research

  • Contractors Direct lists the same Imer Workman II Concrete Mixer at $3,899. CTD's price is $3,199 -- a $700 gap on an identical product with no price comparison or callout anywhere on the CTD PDP.
  • No identified competitor offers prominent financing or tax savings messaging on product pages. CTD's combination of lower price, no taxes, free shipping, and $100,000 financing is not matched.
  • Other catalog competitors (Concrete Tool Supply, AcmeTools, Kraft Tool) have broader catalogs but weaker promotional presence and no financing visibility.

Site Screenshots (Apr 1, 2026)

  • The homepage hero is text-only with no CTA button and no product imagery. The primary value props (Fast Shipping, No Sales Tax, Financing Up to $100K) are present in copy but there is no clear next action for a visitor who lands here.
  • Key trust signals (Expert Support, Financing Options, Free Shipping) are displayed in a scrolling ticker, which reduces their individual visibility compared to static badges.
  • No customer testimonials appear anywhere on the homepage. The cart page shows no financing reminder for purchases above $3,000.

Cross-Source Themes

  • Trust failures compound across the funnel. Three sequential breaks -- expired announcement bar, coupon code with no redemption path, cart copy contradicting no-tax and free-shipping promises -- all trace to the same root cause: promotional execution not maintained end-to-end. Confirmed by Meta Ads, Site Screenshots, and Cart data.
  • Social proof is thin and misaligned for what contractors actually buy for. Rich, outcome-specific testimonials exist in the review data but do not appear on any PDP. The single testimonial used sitewide addresses delivery satisfaction, not machine performance. Confirmed by both Review data and Site Screenshots independently.
  • The financing advantage is real but invisible at the price-objection moment. Competitor research confirms no rivals offer comparable financing visibility. Screenshots confirm the financing option requires an extra click below the primary CTA, with no monthly framing near the sticker price.
  • Mobile page speed on the paid ad landing page compounds every other problem. A 27/100 mobile score on the primary Meta and Google ad destination means a portion of paid traffic bounces before any trust signal, social proof, or pricing decision is reached.
