Flo Mattress
CRO Testing Roadmap
July 2026
Flo has strong product proof, a broad mattress range, and a reassuring purchase promise. The clearest opportunities are to preserve incoming traffic intent, make product choice easier, and remove delay from the mobile purchase path.
Testing Ideas
Eight focused opportunities across acquisition, product choice, product detail, and cart.
Homepage Message Match
Page: Homepage
Offer-focused traffic, orthopedic intent, and product-proof messages all arrive on one broad homepage. The captured hero carries the discount and refund promise, but several distinctive proof points appear later or are absent from the first view.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Five-Mattress Decision Cards
Page: Mattress Collection
Five large product cards span two folds, but the captured cards do not offer consistent firmness, material, sleeper-fit, cooling, or rating criteria. Reviews also show materially different experiences with firmness and back support.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Faster Mobile Critical Path
Pages: Homepage and Ergo PDP
Mobile Lighthouse measured a 6.5 s homepage LCP and a 7.4 s Ergo PDP LCP. Large payloads, unused JavaScript, render-blocking assets, and animated image waste delay the buying experience despite fast server response.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Persistent PDP Purchase Bar
Page: Ergo PDP
The captured buy box places price, delivery, EMI, measurement help, color, size, dimensions, thickness, and quantity before Add to Cart. The primary purchase action first appears in the second fold, and no mobile sticky state was collected.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
PDP Suitability Guide
Page: Ergo PDP
Ergo is preselected beside an Ortho switch and 21,984 reviews, but the captured choice lacks a compact suitability guide. Collected reviews range from significant back-pain relief to worse pain, making support expectations an important decision point.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Progressive Size Configuration
Page: Ergo PDP
Standard or custom mode, units, dimensions, thickness, measurement help, and quantity form one long sequence before purchase. The site supports custom sizing, and the review sample includes an isolated size-fit issue.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Compatible Protector Add-On
Surface: Cart drawer, sitewide
The cart already holds the mattress dimensions, thickness, color, and size. The protector recommendation still requires another size choice without visibly confirming compatibility.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
De-Emphasized Promo Code
Surface: Cart drawer, sitewide
An open promo field appears before recommendations and checkout despite displayed savings. The drawer already reassures shoppers about delivery, trial, and EMI, while no free-shipping threshold is shown.
* Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cross-Source Analysis
Biggest Killers of Conversion Rate
- Paid-message specificity collapses into a generic homepage. Distinctive product and proof angles are not consistently preserved in the first view.
- Choice confidence is weaker than the product range. Five mattress types lack consistent comparison criteria, while customer outcomes vary by firmness and support needs.
- Slow mobile execution and dense purchase controls delay action. Mobile load milestones are slow, and the PDP purchase action follows a long configuration sequence.
Data Sources Used
What the Data Shows
Meta Ads and Landing Pages
- All collected paid-social creative sends traffic to the homepage, so specific intent is compressed into one broad landing experience.
- Discount, trial, warranty, delivery, sleep, and technology themes appear on the homepage. Celebrity framing, the 95% five-star statistic, natural-latex proof, and vacuum-packed delivery proof are absent from the captured hero.
- The strongest customer proof and core purchase assurances appear later in the page rather than beside the hero action.
Google Ads
- Search creative consistently uses discount, trial, warranty, delivery, EMI, cooling, aloe-vera, and mattress-in-a-box themes.
- Higher-intent orthopedic, back-pain, and doctor-recommendation angles still land on the homepage, where visitors must self-navigate among five options.
- The captured hero does not substantiate a doctor-recommendation claim.
Reviews and UGC
- 79 of 89 collected Amazon reviews are four or five stars. Seven are one or two stars.
- Comfort, balanced softness and firmness, support, sleep quality, value, and cooling appear in positive feedback.
- Back-support outcomes split sharply, ranging from significant relief to no relief or worse pain.
- Durability, delivery, return pickup, aloe scent, size fit, and product-to-ad credibility appear in negative feedback.
PageSpeed Insights
- Mobile Lighthouse scored the homepage 48/100 with 6.5 s LCP and the Ergo PDP 49/100 with 7.4 s LCP.
- The homepage transferred 4,591 KiB and exposed 399 KiB of image-delivery savings. Two animated GIFs accounted for most flagged image waste.
- The PDP transferred 5,798 KiB, spent 13.3 s on main-thread work, and exposed an estimated 930 KiB of unused JavaScript.
- Server response was fast in both runs, pointing to client payload and execution as the primary problem.
Site Screenshots
- The homepage hero shows the refund promise, up to 40% off, ₹9-per-night framing, and one Shop Mattress action. No star rating or review count appears beside that action.
- Collection cards show imagery, positioning copy, starting price, discount, and Shop Now, but no firmness scale, material, sleeper profile, cooling, review score, or comparison control.
- The Ergo PDP shows 21,984 reviews, then places a long configuration sequence before Add to Cart at the top of the second fold.
- The cart recommendation asks shoppers to choose a protector size even though the mattress configuration is already present.
Live Site
- Free delivery within 14 days, a 100-night trial, a 10-year warranty, and mattress-in-a-box proof are documented below the option-selection section.
- The homepage places its 10,00,000+ customer proof well below product education.
- The live announcement date and the captured sale date did not align, making offer freshness an operational concern.
Competitor Analysis
- Wakefit makes series comparison and review volume prominent.
- SleepyCat combines feel, suitability, review count, setup time, and policies near selection.
- The Sleep Company leads with proprietary technology and quantified outcome proof.
- Flo's differentiators exist, but they are dispersed across several folds and do not translate the range into an immediate personal choice.
Collection Manifest
- All brand traffic is directed to the homepage.
- The mattress collection is designed as a short, two-fold choice among five products.
- AOV, monthly sessions, baseline conversion, device mix, and funnel rates were not collected.
