Performance Golf is moving from Checkout Champ to Shopify. The old system's profitability depended on post-purchase video upsells, a mechanism that doesn't exist on the new platform yet. Rebuilding it is the top priority: without it, the economics don't work.
The second priority is trust. Across 35+ recent Trustpilot reviews, customers cite unwanted subscription charges and hidden fees. Yet PG holds the strongest guarantee in the competitive set (365 days vs. the industry average of 60) and has 800K+ clubs sold, 1M+ subscribers, and 3,700+ reviews at 4.8 stars. These signals are invisible at the point of purchase.

Add trust signals, savings visibility, and an optional product upsell to the cart drawer. The current drawer has zero reassurance at the moment of purchase, despite PG holding a 365-day guarantee that is 6x the competitive average. Testing trust-first vs. trust + upsell to isolate what drives the lift.

High-Impact PDP Tests + Agentic Commerce
Shopify is launching ChatGPT as an agentic storefront channel. Buyers will find and purchase products directly inside ChatGPT. What the AI pulls is shaped by your product content: gallery images, descriptions, and pricing structure. Three high-impact PDP tests to make sure Performance Golf shows up right.

Test an optimized gallery sequence that leads with action shots and real golfer imagery instead of static product-on-white. The 357 is the flagship product (3,700+ reviews, most advertised, most searched on-site). Senior golfers need to see someone like them hitting the club before they trust the purchase. Reorder and supplement the gallery to build that visual confidence.

Test restructured product descriptions that lead with customer-voice outcomes instead of spec lists. Replace "aerodynamic head design" with real review language: "added 20 yards to my 7-wood distance." Address the senior golfer's real questions: "Will this help my game?" and "Is it worth the price?" Use AI-generated copy grounded in 3,700+ actual reviews.

Product Pricing Test
Test price anchoring directly in the price display area. Show the sale price alongside a cost-per-round breakdown and comparison to golf lesson costs. PG's audience already spends $50-100/lesson trying to improve. Reframing a $97 club as "less than 2 lessons, permanent improvement" converts price hesitation into value clarity.

Product Discovery + SEO Optimization
Capture demand at the discovery layer. A product recommendation quiz to help undecided golfers find the right club, plus structured data markup so AI search tools and Shopify's new agentic storefronts surface Performance Golf when buyers ask "best fairway wood for seniors."

Club Finder Quiz: Design + Logic
Build a guided quiz flow that matches golfers to the right club. 3-4 questions covering handicap range, biggest struggle (distance, accuracy, consistency), which clubs they hit least, and budget comfort. Maps answers to specific product recommendations with confidence scoring. PG sells 10+ club models. Senior golfers don't know which one solves their problem. The quiz removes that friction.

Club Finder Quiz: Results + Email Capture
Build the results page with a personalized club recommendation, "why this fits your game" summary, and optional email capture for abandoned quiz recovery. Show the recommended club with review highlights from golfers with a similar profile, a comparison to alternatives in the PG lineup, and a clear path to the PDP. Email capture at this step collects zero-party data for retargeting.

Structured Data / Schema Markup
Add Product, FAQ, and Review schema to all club PDPs and collection pages. AI search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) pull from structured data to answer queries like "best fairway wood for seniors" or "Performance Golf 357 review." With 3,700+ reviews and a 4.8 average, PG has the data to dominate rich results. Without schema, it's invisible to agentic search.
