Solace
CRO Testing Roadmap
August 2026
Solace has a compelling bundle and a distinct PFAS-free promise, but both are easiest to miss at key decision points. This roadmap brings the offer, safety story, sizing help, and trust signals closer to the moments when shoppers choose, while addressing severe mobile delays on the homepage and PDP.
Eight focused experiments
Make the value easier to see and act on
PDP Bundle Offer
The PDP buy box presents one band at $39.99, while the 5 for $99 and Buy 2, Get 1 Free offers appear elsewhere in the journey. That leaves the main value mechanic outside the highest-intent decision area. The variation adds a visible quantity-tier selector above Add to Cart.
* The bundle becomes a selectable part of the PDP buy box. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Load Priority
The mobile homepage records a 38/100 Lighthouse score, 7.1s LCP, and 38.3s Time to Interactive while autoplay videos and several product carousels load near the top. The delay can keep the first action from responding when a shopper is ready to tap. The variation renders the unchanged hero first, turns UGC into tap-to-play thumbnails, and loads lower carousels as they enter view.
* The hero becomes interactive first, while video and lower carousels wait until needed. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
PDP Load Priority
The mobile PDP records a 5.4s LCP and 45.6s Time to Interactive while the gallery, a large swatch grid, scripts, and lower lifestyle sections load. The buying controls can remain unresponsive during the moment a shopper tries to add the band. The variation prioritizes the product image and buy box, then loads the lower lifestyle section on scroll.
* The buy box becomes interactive before lower lifestyle content requests begin. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Safety Message
Safety language appears across paid-search headlines, but the homepage first leads with “Give Your Apple Watch A Makeover” and does not surface PFAS-free messaging until later. The promise that brought safety-focused visitors to the site is not the first message they see. The variation leads with a PFAS-free headline while preserving the existing image, proof line, supporting copy, and Shop Now action.
* The first headline restates the PFAS-free safety promise while the familiar hero remains intact. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Collection Card Pricing
The 29-item collection grid shows product names, imagery, color swatches, and status badges, but no prices across the captured page. Shoppers must open each product before they can compare a basic purchase detail. The variation places price beneath each product name while preserving the existing imagery and swatch pattern.
* Price appears directly beneath the product name before the shopper opens the PDP. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
PDP Sizing Guide
Sizing is the most repeated complaint in the review sample, including microscopic printed instructions, an outdated pin tool, and difficulty finding a comfortable fit. The PDP accordion stack has Features, Description, and Shipping and Warranty, but no dedicated sizing help. The variation adds a first-position Sizing & Fit Guide with legible guidance for removing links, adding links, and checking the fit.
* A dedicated, expanded sizing guide appears first in the existing accordion stack. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cart Drawer Trust Row
Cart drawer
The cart drawer carries the rewards progress bar, line item, and size-matched cross-sell, but no guarantee or trust copy. The PDP already uses three reassurance claims directly below Add to Cart. The variation repeats Ships Next Day, Lifetime Quality, and Money-Back Guarantee above checkout without changing the cart order.
* The three existing PDP reassurance claims move into view directly above checkout. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Editorial Proof
The homepage trust ticker relies on Solace’s own sales, review, warranty, and product claims. A 2026 Sarasota Magazine roundup calls Solace “the easiest recommendation,” but that third-party recognition is absent from the captured homepage. The variation adds the editorial mention to the existing ticker treatment alongside the current trust statements.
* The ticker gains a third-party editorial mention alongside the existing Solace proof points. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cross-source patterns
Biggest Killers of Conversion Rate
- Mobile performance is severely degraded on the homepage and PDP, with 38.3s and 45.6s Time to Interactive in the collected lab reports.
- The 5 for $99 and Buy 2, Get 1 Free offer carries through paid search, the homepage, and cart, but is absent from the PDP buy box.
- Sizing instructions and the included pin tool are the most repeated sources of frustration in the review sample.
What informed the roadmap
Data Sources Used
Source findings
What the Data Shows
Google Ads
- Headline themes cluster around product identity and safety language such as “No PFAS, BPA, or Phthalates,” “Non-Toxic Apple Watch Bands,” and “Skin Friendly / Hypoallergenic.”
- Advertised offers include Buy 2, Get 1 Free, 5 Bands For $99 This Week, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and fast shipping.
- The bundle message matches the homepage bar and cart drawer, while the safety message is not the first thing a homepage visitor reads.
PageSpeed Insights
- The mobile homepage scores 38/100, with 7.1s LCP, 38.3s Time to Interactive, and 1,340ms Total Blocking Time.
- The mobile Imperium Adapt PDP scores 50/100, with 5.4s LCP, 45.6s Time to Interactive, and 750ms Total Blocking Time.
- CLS is 0 on both pages, so layout shift is not an issue in the collected reports.
Site Screenshots
- The homepage leads with “Give Your Apple Watch A Makeover,” while PFAS-free messaging appears in a later trust ticker and comparison table.
- None of the 29 collection cards show a price across the three captured folds.
- The PDP buy box has one $39.99 purchase option and no bundle selector. The cart drawer is where the bundle becomes interactive.
- The cart drawer has no guarantee, return-policy, or trust badge in the captured state.
Reviews and UGC
- Comfort, lightweight feel, color variety, and compliments recur in positive reviews.
- Sizing friction is the largest complaint theme, including microscopic instructions, an outdated pin tool, and difficulty finding a comfortable fit.
- Other repeated complaints cover clasp reliability, color accuracy, durability, and a handful of skin reactions.
Live Site
- The live homepage repeats the limited-time 5 for $99 offer, features the main watch-band collection, and carries trust statements including PFAS-Free and Money-Back Guarantee.
- The captured site experience routes shoppers through standard homepage, collection, PDP, and cart surfaces rather than dedicated landing pages.
Competitor Research
- Spigen competes at a lower price point without a PFAS-free health position.
- WizeBand combines PFAS-free positioning with a 3-for-2 promotion and 100-day returns.
- A 2026 Sarasota Magazine roundup names Solace “the easiest recommendation” for most buyers.
