Voss Helmets
Conversion testing roadmap
August
2026
Voss has strong products and a large review base, but its most persuasive proof disappears at the points where shoppers choose, compare, and buy. This roadmap brings the purchase path forward and makes paid-traffic promises visible on arrival.
Eight testing ideas
Make the proof impossible to miss.
PDP Sticky Add to Cart
Page: VOSS 991 Gloss Gold Hollywood PDPThe Add to Cart button sits below the faceshield and rear-spoiler selectors, while the mobile page takes 44 seconds to become interactive. The primary purchase action is both visually distant and slow to reach. The variation keeps the product name, price, and Add to Cart action pinned to the viewport.
* The purchase action stays visible while the shopper reviews sizes and accessories. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Hero Trust Strip
Page: HomepagePaid-social creative leads with more than 4,700 reviews, while the homepage hero shows no review count, rating, guarantee, or returns message. The proof used to earn the click disappears on arrival. The variation places verified-rider proof and shipping reassurance between the Hollywood headline and its CTA.
* The review promise and shipping reassurance appear before the hero CTA. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Dedicated 988 Landing Page
Page: Voss 988 Moto-1 Solid BlackOffer-focused traffic arrives expecting a black full-face helmet at $219.99, but the homepage opens with a different helmet at $419.99 and does not repeat the promised features. The $200 contradiction breaks message match immediately. The variation opens on the 988 Moto-1, its price, the named features, and a single purchase action.
* The destination repeats the $219.99 promise, the black 988 Moto-1, and the exact feature sequence. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
PDP Buy Box Reviews
Page: VOSS 991 Gloss Gold Hollywood PDPThe 991 buy box shows the product title, $419.99 price, six sizes, and loyalty points without any review signal across the captured page. The shopper evaluates a premium purchase without the proof Voss uses elsewhere to earn attention. The variation places a linked verified-rider review row directly below the product title.
* Verified-rider proof moves into the buy box before price and size evaluation. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Homepage Fold 2 Social Proof
Page: HomepageThe second homepage fold introduces Rider, Road Captain, and Voss Inner Circle status before any secondary product, review, or pricing context. First-time shoppers meet a retention program before purchase validation. The variation moves the loyalty content lower and replaces this fold with real rider reviews and the helmet each customer purchased.
* Real rider reviews replace the loyalty-program introduction, while the program moves lower on the page. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Collection Card Ratings
Page: All Helmets collectionNone of the 65 captured product cards shows a star rating, so shoppers compare models using product names, price, and the unexplained Mips badge alone. A large existing review base is unavailable at the comparison stage. The variation adds a compact rating and review count between each product name and price.
* The exact 988 Moto-1 rating becomes a comparison signal between the product name and price. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cart Shipping Progress
Page: CartThe sitewide $75 free-shipping threshold does not appear inside the cart, where lower-ticket accessories start at $19.99. Shoppers cannot see how close a smaller order is to the shipping benefit. The variation adds a progress message above the line items and switches to an unlocked state once the threshold is cleared.
* The cart shows the exact remaining spend before the $75 shipping benefit unlocks. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.
Cart Terms Checkbox
Page: CartThe mobile cart inserts “I AGREE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS” between the order summary and the checkout button. That creates another required action at the final purchase step. The variation removes the checkbox so CHECK OUT follows the order summary without an extra selection.
* The CHECK OUT button follows the order summary without requiring a terms checkbox. Concept illustration only. Final design will differ.

Biggest Killers of Conversion Rate
- 01Social proof appears in paid media but disappears from the homepage hero, collection cards, and PDP buy box.
- 02Product and price promises change between the click and the landing page, including a $219.99 offer that opens on a $419.99 hero.
- 03Core purchase actions sit behind accessory selectors, loyalty content, and cart requirements instead of staying visible.
Data Sources Used
Meta Ads and Landing Pages
- Creative for the 601 D2 sends shoppers to a homepage campaign for the 991 Hollywood, with no 601 D2 reference on the landing page.
- Offer-focused traffic for a $219.99 black full-face helmet opens on a homepage hero for a $419.99 product. The promoted ventilation, EPS liner, and removable liner are not repeated there.
- A testimonial-led 580 Modular route is the clearest message match, but its collection page still shows no rating or review count.
Google Ads
- Both captured Shopping cards show “[Price]” instead of a dollar amount. The audit flags this for feed verification because the screenshot may reflect a live issue or a capture artifact.
- A captured search unit promotes an offer ending May 26 at midnight, while the destination homepage does not show that offer.
- Search messaging ranges from “Safety First!” to promotional offers, while the homepage leads with the Hollywood product launch.
Page Speed Insights
- The homepage scores 44/100 on mobile, with a 10.6-second Largest Contentful Paint and 36.4-second Time to Interactive.
- The 991 Hollywood PDP scores 48/100 on mobile, with 860ms Total Blocking Time and 44.0-second Time to Interactive.
- The PDP run reported that the page loaded too slowly to finish within the time limit, so its results may be incomplete.
Site Screenshots
- The homepage hero has one conversion path, “SHOP HOLLYWOOD,” and no star rating, review count, guarantee, or returns language.
- The 991 Add to Cart button appears in fold 2 after 10 faceshield swatches and rear-spoiler options. Its description also says “991 CARBON BLACK” on the Gold Hollywood page.
- The captured collection has 65 product cards without ratings. The mobile cart also shows auto-added Package Protection and a terms checkbox before checkout.
Business Context
- The homepage is the primary paid-traffic entry point, and its main CTA sends shoppers to the $419.99 991 Hollywood PDP.
- All eight roadmap slots were available for conversion work, with no development-project slots reserved.
Competitor Analysis
- HJC and LS2 offer DOT and ECE-certified helmets at similar or lower price points, while Voss is documented as DOT-only.
- HJC and LS2 benefit from ratings on high-traffic retail aggregators. Voss sells direct, which makes its own review visibility more important.
- At $419.99, the 991 Hollywood sits above premium HJC and LS2 options but below Shoei and Arai pricing.
Live Site Extraction
- The live site confirms more than 4,600 verified reviews, but the captured homepage hero, collection grid, and 991 buy box do not surface them.
- The sitewide announcement bar confirms free shipping on orders over $75 USD and Buy Now, Pay Later availability.
